Enhancing Education
Our dedicated West Commons serves as a hub for collaborative learning and social interaction, embodying our belief in the power of community to enhance education. In the Senior College, students experience a transformative journey that builds on their earlier years at Wenona.
Leadership
Leadership is a cornerstone of the Senior School experience. Our Student Leadership Team, led by the Head Prefect and Deputy Head Prefects, plays a vital role in shaping School culture. Their initiatives, such as the recent 'All Hands In' and 'Celebrate to Elevate' campaigns, exemplify our commitment to unity, inclusion, and recognising every student's achievement.
Compassion and Community
Academic pursuits in Senior College extend beyond the classroom. Our Academic Tours provide invaluable opportunities for students to explore university options and career paths. Along with our rigorous curriculum, these experiences prepare our girls for tertiary education and beyond.
We understand the importance of balance and reflection in these crucial years. Our Year 12 Retreat, aptly named 'Full Circle', offers students a chance to reflect on their growth since Year 7 and prepare for the challenges ahead. Activities like canoeing and 'green bathing' provide not just fun but also opportunities for bonding and personal development.
Our graduates leave us equipped with deep compassion and a genuine desire to serve their communities.

Academic Program
When you step into Wenona's purpose-built Senior College space, West Commons, there is a palpable energy of excellence, independence and purpose. Wenona’s academic approach in Senior College is to foster an environment in which students work collaboratively with our dedicated staff, to achieve their academic and co-curricular goals. It is an approach that encourages autonomy in learning and lays the groundwork to inspire the potential of our girls in Years 11 and 12.
Subjects and Pathways Available
As the students embark on their Higher School Certificate journey, we offer comprehensive support and a wide array of elective subjects, including offerings such as Engineering Studies, Aboriginal Studies, and Dance. English remains compulsory, with options for Advanced, Extension, and English as an Additional Language/Dialect courses. Students can continue their language studies in Chinese, French, Japanese or Spanish, with Extension courses available.
Our Kindergarten to Year 12 learning framework provides a unified approach across all year groups, ensuring consistency and clarity for both teachers and students. This cohesive strategy underpins our commitment to excellence in education.
Wellbeing Learning
Our dedicated Head of Senior College and Year Coordinators work closely with Deputy Principal (Academics), the Head of Curriculum, Heads of Houses, and a specialised Senior College Counsellor, to provide personalised support for each student.
Leadership development is a cornerstone of our Senior College experience. We encourage all Senior College students to take on formal leadership roles and actively participate in Service Learning initiatives. These opportunities help shape our students into confident, socially responsible individuals.
