Discovery and Growth
Years 9 and 10 are an important time of discovery and growth. Our holistic program incorporates activities, excursions, camps, and our proprietary Connect program, to challenge, support and inspire our students to think about who they are and who they want to be.
The pursuit of academic excellence is key – our dedicated teachers work closely with each student to ensure she receives engaging yet challenging instruction across all subject areas, in preparation for the rigours of Senior College and beyond.

Our Outdoor Education program takes the students to breathtaking locations such as Kangaroo Valley and Jindabyne, building resilience, teamwork, self-reliance and other important wellbeing factors. International community service journeys are also available. Along with our broader social justice activities and Service Learning in the Community program, Wenona Upper School students learn the value of giving back, embodying our School motto, Ut Prosim, that I may serve.
Student leadership development is supported through peer mentoring programs. We also conduct frequent leadership workshops, giving the students numerous opportunities to practise these skills.
Future-focused programs such as Thinking Beyond and Future Proof, help Wenona students explore potential careers and prepare for their lives after School. The Connect program ensures opportunities for the students to develop close bonds in a supportive environment so that each student feels valued and encouraged to be her best self.

Academic Program
Upper School at Wenona provides a platform for girls to expand their horizons and achieve their best both in academic and co-curricular areas. There are many fascinating elective subjects including Latin to Dance and STEM to Design and Technology. A grounding in core curriculum is assured, led by dedicated teachers who also cultivate essential competencies in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. This balanced approach challenges girls to grow and excel while building the confidence to become courageous and independent learners. To broaden perspectives, we regularly invite external speakers to our Upper School programs, connecting our students to key issues influencing society, both locally and internationally, and providing them with a nuanced understanding of the world and their potential role in shaping it.
Renaissance Studies
Year 9 students delve into pertinent topics essential for navigating the complexities of adolescence. Focus areas include managing toxic friendships and conflict resolution, risk-taking behaviour, and digital citizenship.
Year 10 students explore the intricate realm of social psychology. The curriculum encourages a dual perspective, prompting students to examine both the broader societal context and their own perceptions. Notable highlights include the critical analysis of the blue and brown eye classroom experiment.
